I did not go to the bakery! I have ordered many times from Butter Maid Bakery and I wanted to order a special gift for my out of state brother for his 80th birthday! Something that would send him loving memories since I do not see him often! There is 7 years between my brother and myself and when we were kids we would go to my grandmothers house to eat dinner, which was always the same: homemade noodles and chicken soup with nut kolachi cookie and nut rolls which the nuts would overflow just like Butter Maid Bakery! The delivery was the next day and my brother was so surprised and excited to receive his gift! He open his gift and in a matter of minutes the cookies were half gone and the nut roll was sliced! He called me in tears that gift was so delicious and brought the memories of my grandmother making our Sunday Dinner! We talked about when we were kids and all the loving thoughts way back in our lives especially the food Grandma would make! My grandmother was from Poland and as we both are older now, our stories we shared brought so many wonderful memories which was so close to our hearts! As you get older you learn to cherish all the memories you can hold on to! Thank you, Butter Maid Bakery for bringing happiness to two older siblings!

Wow...!! I just received my second package of Kolachi from Butter Maid Bakery. Both packages were gifts from my Sister who lives in Poland, Ohio. First package contained two Honey Walnut Kolachi. This package contained another Honey Walnut and Pecan. Both are Absolutely Delicious!! The Pecan is my Favorite. I'm from Ohio. I grew up in the small but Very Ethnic city of Warren. My Grandmother was Croatian. She and her sister, my Aunt Anna, made Kolachi like they were buttering toast!! They made it look easy!! Butter Maid Bakery comes as close to my family's recipe as I've ever tasted yet!! I can't say "Just like Grandma used to make" But... Darn Close. The dough is a bit different. But the taste is there for sure!! If you like Kolachi, you will be so Satisfied with their products. If you've never Experienced Kolachi, don't hesitate to try these Kolachi. I'm one very Satisfied customer!! The packaging is astounding. Very well done!! Oh.... and this company is Family Owned and Operated.
Hard to resist portion control with these delicious Kolachis. They are reminiscent of my hometown and not found in Raleigh. At least not this fresh, flavorful and flaky.
My grandson just joined the Army, graduated Basic Training and is in California for Tech School. Every year at Christmas I make buckeyes and he LOVES them. I'm in NC and knew it would be hard for me to ship across the country and also be very expensive and I doubt they would have made it there in one piece. Buttermaid ships free through FedEx. I ordered 2packages of these and 1 package of nut Kolachi cookies and they were in his hands in CA 4 days! And FREE SHIPPING!!! They were beautifully packed and in perfect condition! my husband has diabetes 2. These are a great way for him to participate in the family celebrations of Easter. Also in the summer, he likes to sit out with a couple slices of the no sugar nut roll and coffee, and enjoy his morning
My mom and aunt use to make the poppyseed roll every year for holidays. With them gone I've never found any that tasted right they were always too dry. Butter Maid makes the poppyseed roll just right not too dry. Then I tried the pumpkin roll that was wonderful as well. I know where to go for this treat now Butter Maid.

Where I live, it is difficult to find this old world style of pastry and I wanted to get my husband a special dessert for his birthday so I gave Butter Maid a try. So glad I took a chance on this one, my order shipped the day after it was placed and arrived at our doorstep beautifully wrapped and baked to perfection. I have ordered these multiple times. All different tried were excellent For handmade, they are very consistent in quality and appearance. Tastes are consistent for each roll type. Prefer the nut filled as being more traditional from my old memory of grand ma. Keep very well refrigerated or frozen. Taste not adversely affected after thaw. Won't find any better rolls or "cookies".
I am from PA and so I was very familiar with these. My family is German and Hungarian. Then I moved to CA. We could not find anything like this there. From there we went to TX and now recently to MN. We have been ordering the nut and the apricot the most. We have tried other flavors but those two are our favorites. We always make sure we have them for the holidays! They freeze well, taste just like when you first received them. Their customer service is amazing! They are a little expensive but they do sometimes have discount codes. Definitely worth it. It warms my heart to have a piece of my heritage every time I bite into a piece. We will continue to order these. The best ever!
